Junior Web Developer

Junior Web Developer who will be responsible for business web app maintenance and development with a focus on mobile device platform and end user experience. The position reports to the IT Manager.

Position Summary:

We are a premier fire protection company help businesses protection life and property from fire hazard for the past 80 plus years a Junior Web Developer who will be responsible for business web app maintenance and development with a focus on mobile device platform and end user experience.  Working with development and other department team members on group and/or solo projects to develop, improve and maintain app quality, functionality, performance, and compliance to ensure a premium end-user experience for our team members.  Gather feedback and requirements for app functions and user interactions to clearly define development and provide end user feedback for improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop web apps using native JavaScript, PHP, CSS3 and HTML5
  • Limited use of third-party libraries, functions, methods and styles
  • Understanding and use of responsive design techniques.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and develop existing apps.
  • Partner with training leadership and other team members to promote app adoption and use education
  • Contribute to planning roadmap for future business application development and improvements


  • Advanced knowledge of web coding using Javascript, PHP, CSS3 and HTML5.
  • UI/UX design principles
  • SQL and MySQL database skills a plus
  • PHP skills a plus
  • API use a plus
  • Knowledge of browser compatibility and web security practices.
  • Working knowledge of desktops, laptops, thin clients and networks.
  • Experience with mobile device web app development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail orientated and highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively & efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and effectively multi-task
  • Ability to cope with change and meet deadlines

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in computer science
  • 1-3 years of web development experience
  • 1-3 years experience with business software SaaS and ERP platforms
  • Portfolio of previous or current work a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite a plus
  • Great collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
