The Field Service Trainer is responsible for assisting the Department in training and developing personnel. The position is designed to spend both time in the field and in the office based upon needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation and deployment of a Technical Training Program for the department.
  • Works with Department Manager, Assistant Manager, technicians and Training Department to develop and execute field training to improve technician knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with the creation and deployment of KOB University training program for technicians.
  • Evaluates and certifies field personnel on equipment and processes for that division and is in line with the “Ladder Program”.
  • Partners with Manager of Training and Development to oversee Ladders Program.
  • Partners with Department Manager, and Assistant Manager in providing technical knowledge to assist with the running of the division. Serves as the technical advisor to the Manager, Assistant Manager, Coordinators and Technicians.
  • Administers and enforces company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; strong preference for Trade School experience which includes but is not limited to an electrical and/or electronics background
  • 4+ years’ experience in technical or service maintenance field work. Specifically, Life Safety
  • Must be able to perform all inspection and testing procedures that technicians have to perform in the field.
  • Manufacturer training for the products this person will train on
  • Must have NICET, NAFED, or other accredited certifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Math and reading proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite basic understanding
  • Change Management skillset
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Design and document training programs
